A Few Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Footwear: Saturday is in an orchard (grass/dirt) and Sunday involves an Alpine Slide. Plan your shoes accordingly!

  • Travel Time: Remember that Hood River is an hour+ from Portland. If you plan on joining us Sunday, the drive from Hood River to Timberline Lodge takes about an hour and half. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful scenery on Hwy 35!

  • Transport: There are no Ubers at Timberline! If you need a ride for Sunday’s activities, let us know on your RSVP and we’ll help coordinate a carpool.

FAQs

THE LOGISTICS

  • We are getting married at [Orchard Name] in Hood River. Both the ceremony and the meal will take place outdoors among the trees.

  • Fly into PDX. From there, it’s a beautiful 60-minute drive east through the Columbia River Gorge. We highly recommend renting a car, as Uber and Lyft are basically non-existent once you leave the Portland city limits.

  • We recommend grabbing an Airbnb in White Salmon, WA (where we live!) or Hood River, OR (where the orchard is). They are just across the river from each other. If you prefer a hotel, the Hood River Hotel is a classic choice.

THE “Orchard Vibe” & ATTIRE

  • Let’s call it "Orchard Chic." Don't feel pressured to wear anything specific, we want you to come as you are!

You may wish to look nice for photos, but remember you’ll be walking on grass and dirt.

  • Only if you want to aerate the orchard soil! We strongly suggest flats, wedges, or sturdy boots.

  • The Gorge is famous for its wind. It could get VERY windy!

Even if it’s sunny, it can get chilly once the sun dips behind the mountains. Bring a jacket or a cozy layer.

THE CEREMONY & CULTURE

  • We’ve hired an incredible photographer to capture the day. We’d love for you to be fully present with us during the ceremony, so please keep your phones and cameras tucked away. We promise to share the professional gallery with everyone later!

  • No, but please drink responsibly! We met in recovery, and our life together is built on being present and clear-headed. However, you may enjoy your beverage of choice responsibly!

We’ll have a large spread of high-end NA drinks, local coffee, and sparkling cider. We promise the "high" will come from the views and the company, not the cups.

  • Absolutely. We love your tiny humans. The orchard has plenty of space for them to roam, just keep an eye on them so they don't wander into a neighboring farm!

THE SUNDAY ADVENTURE

  • It’s about a 90-minute drive south on Highway 35. It’s a stunning drive that wraps around Mt. Hood.

  • It’s essentially a bobsled on wheels that goes down the mountain. It’s a blast. You control your own speed, so you can go "scary fast" or "sightseeing slow."

  • Just comfortable clothes and shoes that won't fly off on a slide!

GIFTS & REGISTRY

  • We aren't! Your presence means everything to us. Your travel to be here is the best gift we could ask for.

For those who have asked, if you’d like to contribute, we’ve set up a honeymoon & life fund on our website which you can view here [link]

  • If you insist, we have a Venmo link on the [Registry Page] for our "New Home & Honeymoon" fund, or we’d love for you to donate to [Insert Local Trail Association/Recovery Charity] in our honor.
